Escape The Fate at Roseland Ballroom

October 29– Escape The Fate opened for the Vacos Locos tour, which featured co-headliners Atreyu and Hollywood Undead. Playing a short set that mostly stemmed from 2008′s This War Is Ours, ETF played a decent set that got the crowd mildly warmed up for the following acts.

While not very lengthy, Escape The Fate’s set gave a good summary of their live show– unadulterated and full-on hard rock with a few moments of metalcore. Newcomer vocalist Craig Mabbitt made sure to give it his all on stage, even if it meant risking his life. Before the end of the band’s set, Mabbitt climbed onto the side balcony and sang the band’s last song whilst holding his weight on the balcony.
ETF’s six song set consisted of five songs off of This War Is Ours, including The Flood, You Are So Beautiful, Something, and 10 Miles Wide, along with the song Situations, from their debut album Dying Is Your Latest Fashion.
The band performed well live. Some fans may not like the band without former vocalist Ronnie Radke, but I believe Mabbitt did a good job in filling those shoes.
As an opening band, Escape The Fate were quite entertaining, but they did not generate as much buzz as the co-headliners; however, they were a fun band live, even if I am not a fan of their music. Mabbitt’s vocals and reckless activities are enough to warrant the price of admission.
