The Devil Wears Prada at Oceanport’s Warped Tour

August 10, 2009

July 19– Christian Metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada rocked the mainstage of Warped Tour this year, proving to all who watched that intense breakdowns and thought-provoking lyrics can and will always go hand-in-hand.

Dayton, Ohio’s The Devil Wears Prada is one of my favorite bands, and I have seen them multiple times prior to Warped, so I knew what to expect from their live show: a highly energetic performance, a great set, and fans going crazy for the band, all of which I witnessed yet again during their Warped set.

The band performed excellently at Oceanport, and their set, consistingof songs such Sassafras, Danger: Wildman, Hey John, What’s Your Name Again, and a cover of Big Tymer’s Still Fly, got the crowd moving and moshing like there was no tomorrow.

Vocalist Mike Hranica enthusiasm over performing to a large crowd was evident throughout the performance– his facial expressions give off a sense of both dread and excitement, and he never stopped moving on stage, giving all of the photographers in the pit a great subject to keep an eye on.

I greatly enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada set, and I cannot wait to see them live again.
